Our Theme: KULTURA 2.0: Reimagining Traditions for the 21st Century
Assemblage art is a creative form of sculpture that involves assembling various materials, objects, and found items into a cohesive artwork. This form of art encourages artists to repurpose everyday objects, natural elements, and cultural artifacts to express ideas and tell stories in three-dimensional form.
For this competition, participants will use assemblage art to create a work that envisions how Filipino traditions can evolve and adapt in the modern world. The goal is to blend the old with the new to create a vibrant cultural future that honors Filipino heritage while embracing innovation, blending traditional elements with modern or futuristic concepts to create a unique vision for the future of Filipino culture.
Eligibility: Open to all young Cebuano students enrolled in public and private schools within Cebu Province.
Category A: Grades 1-2-3 Lower Primary
Category B: Grades 4-5-6 Higher Primary
Category C: Grades 7-8-9-10 Junior High School
Category D: Grades 11-12 Senior High School
Category E: First & Second year University Students
Students who are from Category A & B will need their parents to submit on their behalf.
Media, Technique & Size Requirement:
1. Medium: All submissions must be in the form of assemblage art. Participants are encouraged to creatively use various objects, such as recycled materials, natural elements, traditional Filipino items, and found objects.
2. Size: The maximum size of the artwork should not exceed 5 feet in height, width, or depth.
3. Materials: Participants should use safe and non-hazardous materials. Use of sharp or dangerous objects is prohibited.
4. Theme Adherence: The artwork must reflect the competition’s theme, "Kultura 2.0: Reimagining Traditions for the 21st Century," by blending traditional Filipino elements with modern or futuristic concepts.
5. Originality: All entries must be original works created by the participants. Plagiarism or direct copying of existing works is strictly prohibited.
Prizes: Tablets and Gift Certificates from Stanton International
Number of Entries: Each participant shall only submit ONE (1) entry.
Notification of Winners: Winners will be chosen on the 5th October 2024. The winners will receive a confirmation text message and email from Stanton International indicating on how to claim the prize.
Copyright Law:
All artwork must be original and created entirely by the student. Any artwork that is copyrighted will be rejected. For example, no artwork taken directly from television shows, movies, video games, or books will be accepted; however, replicas will be accepted.

Entry Form: Complete and submit the official entry form available below or at Stanton International Center.
Submission Format: Digital proof of completed output by September 21, 2024. Submit in high resolution
JPEG or PNG format (minimum 300 DPI).

Judging and Winners:
• A panel of judges will review entries by Category
• One winner will be selected from each Category
• All winner’s art work will be featured in the Social Media Platforms of Stanton International and at the same time it will be printed digitally on T-shirts and will go on sale and the proceeds will go to the recipients of the Stanton Foundation.
Judging Requirement:
1. Relevance to Theme (30%)
○ Interpretation of Theme: How well does the assemblage reflect the theme of reimagining Filipino traditions for the 21st century?
○ Cultural Insight: Does the artwork effectively convey a connection between Filipino culture and contemporary or futuristic elements?
2. Creativity and Originality (30%)
○ Innovative Use of Materials: How creatively has the artist used various objects to convey their message?
○ Original Concept: Does the artwork present a fresh and imaginative perspective on Filipino traditions?
3. Technical Skill (20%)
○ Construction Quality: How well has the artist assembled the various materials? Is the artwork stable and well-constructed?
○ Attention to Detail: Are the materials thoughtfully chosen and arranged to create a cohesive and visually appealing piece?
4. Artistic Expression (10%)
○ Emotional Impact: Does the assemblage evoke emotions or provoke thought?
○ Narrative Clarity: Is there a clear story or message that connects tradition with modernity?
5. Overall Impact (10%)
○ Number of Likes of the Output Photo on Facebook (5%)
○ Number of Shares of the Output Photo on Facebook (5%)

Additional Guidelines:
1. Originality: All submissions must be original works of the artist. Plagiarism or use of copyrighted material without proper authorization will result in disqualification.
2. Ownership: Artists retain ownership of their work, but the competition organizers reserve the right to use images of the artwork for promotional purposes with proper attribution.
3. Safety: For installation and sculpture submissions, ensure that the artwork is structurally sound and safe for display.
